Who is Massey’s Professional Outfitters?

Since 1972 Massey’s has been providing exceptional gear to thousands of recreational enthusiasts. Our primary goal is to offer just the right product and knowledge to make any trip a success. Massey’s has four store locations with over 25,000 combined square feet and a warehouse in downtown New Orleans with another 20,000 sq/ft of outdoor gear. We have all the top brands: The North Face, Patagonia, Marmot, Merrell, Vasque, Keen and over 200 other brands to choose from. We also stand out among other outdoor sites becuase we DO NOT REVERSE COMMISSIONS. If you make a sale, we think you are working for us. Our staff gets paid whether they make a sale or not, and so will you. We will only reverse commissions on sales that are considered to be fraudulent.

What is an Affiliates Program?
An affiliate program is a way for anyone with a website to make commissions when they direct their sites' visitors to buy product from Massey’s. It’s really very easy. Once you become a member of Avantlink (You can sign up HERE), each time a customer you send to us purchases anything from our website you will earn a commission. 



How do you track my visitors to your site?
When a visitor to your site clicks on a link to Massey’s, a cookie is placed on their computer that allows their purchases to be assigned to your account. We have partnered with Avantlink, the web's leading provider of commission based programs and they take care of all the hard work for you! They host all of the images and links; take care of all the tracking, so you can be assured that your commissions are tracked by a third-party. Once you sign up, you will also have access to reports and tracking so you can see how much money you have generated by sending your visitors to us.

What does it cost to join?
NOTHING. That's right, nothing! You don't have to spend a dime to start making money immediately. All it's going to cost you is a little bit of time to get your program up and running. There are no hidden fees, no transaction costs, etc. When you earn it, it's yours!

So how much money are we talking about? 
Well, the sky is the limit. Our base commission rate starts at 9% and goes up to 13% depending on which of our four sites you advertise and how much revenue your site generates. The more time and effort you put into your marketing program, the more money you will make. With little effort, you will probably make a little commission. Some of our partners have made thousands each check, but they are taking the time to really market their websites well. So, the best answer is this, while we can't guarantee you anything, we have seen success as a direct reflection of time spent trying to achieve that success.

Do I have to create the Images and Advertisements? 
Nope. That's why we're here. Our graphic designers are constantly creating ads specifically for our Affiliates Partners. Once you are a member of the Avantlink program, you will have access to all of our resources and advertisements. You won't have to do anything as far as the graphic design goes to display our ads.

What about Data Feeds?
For those of you that are a little more web savvy, we do offer a data feed. It is accessible from our FTP site or you can sign up for our feed distribution list. What are your criteria for accepting applications?
While we do encourage anyone with a website to sign up, we have developed significant relationships with our manufacturers and have made a commitment to them to promote their products in a professional and reputable way. We expect all of our affiliates to meet those standards as well. It helps if your site has an outdoor slant to it. However, it is not a prerequisite. We judge each site individually and review each site personally. We do not automatically except all applicants. We’re a little picky! 

We do not allow the use of discount "ploys" or unethical marketing. We do not accept sites that have any sort of download tools, spyware, cookie modifiers and the like. Your site must be live for acceptance; we do not approve sites that are "coming soon". In addition, we do not approve applications from adult related websites. 

What is our commission structure?

We have two tiers of commissions:

Standard 8%. This is our standard starting commission rate which is competitive with other Merchants in the Outdoor category.

Performer 10%. In order to receive this commission rate you’ll need to be generating $10,000 in sales or $850 in commissions a month for 3 consecutive months.

Professional Purchase Incentive: Any affiliate that generates $5,000 in sales or $350 in commissions for 3 consecutive months is automatically able to purchase any of our gear at a significant discount. All orders are processed by our affiliate manager, for specifics please send us an email at affiliates@masseys.netPlease note: This incentive is only for affiliates, not your friends and family. You are allowed only 1 item per category, per year. Your sizes will be recorded and your account will be monitored. 

 ** Please note the tier structure is evaluated on a monthly basis and you will be moved up or down based on the previous months sales. Once you have moved to tier 2, if you do not meet the minimum requirements, you will be moved to the next lower tier that matches your sales for the month. Sites that do not send traffic to our sites are at risk of being removed from the program. In addition, sites that have an unusually high number of impressions and an extremely low number of clicks are at risk for being removed from the program.

What do I need to sign up?
You will need a minimal knowledge of HTML to assign our coding to your website. It's VERY easy. A basic book like HTML for Dummies is more than enough to explain the basics. In addition you will need a live website. We must view your site before we approve it, so your site must be up and running at the time of application.

How do I get started?

If you are not yet a member of Avantlink you will need to sign up with them first. You can sign up HERE.Once you are approved by Avantlink, you can add our program and will automatically be approved.
